It is mentioned in many of the Sangam literature.
There is also a famous mention in one of the verses of Purananuru written by greatest poet of all time Avvayar.
It is mentioned that the king Adhiyamaan Nedumananji got a special Gooseberry (Nellikkai) and though every body asked him to offer it to god he chose to gave it to Avvayar as he wanted this great poet to live longer.
Thus it denotes the how nutritious this fruit is.
This Jam is made with perfect blend of Nattu Nellikkai (Gooseberry), Nattu Sarkarai (Cane Sugar), Sukku, Aelakkai (Cardamom) and Ghee.
This can be used as a spread for Bread or Chappathi.
A spoon of this Jam can also be taken directly in the morning.
